Bread for the Day

I love bread.  I have been thinking about how bread is essential, making its way onto tables everyday all over the world.  It is a filling and satisfying food.  It provides basic, simple sustenance.  Fresh baked bread ignites the senses.  Nothing better!  I am grateful for daily bread.

Thank you so much! I likewise enjoy yours. You have a great eye for photography. And you get some great and timely shots. I really enjoy sharing in the creative process with others. I feel like I’m part of a community of really cool, really creative folk and I’m enriched by that.

Thank you so much! There is something so calming about it. I guess bread reminds me of eating and eating is best when shared with others. Times around the table with the people I love and enjoy is one of the most fulfilling experiences for me.

oh you’re so right, i love big family or friend gatherings around the table, we have a big pine table made from old recycled pews, with turned piano legs, that seats 10 easily, great for Christmas!

So true! And it is the simplicity of bread that is so attractive to me. We live in such a complex world, so busy, that we often fail to appreciate the simple essentials.

So true. Even though some feel like breads the devil I firmly agree with your sentiments. It’s wonderful and was used by biblical characters. So it can’t be that harmful. Wonderful blog by the way. Think I’ll tweet it for you. ^+*

mmmmmm I love bread too, you’ve reminded me that i havent baked my own for far too long, i used to always make our own soda bread for the week, made with buttemilk and baking soda, but no yeast, its really quick and easy, tho can be a bit heavy made with wholemeal and all the seeds and things i add
love pitta / naan / djapattis too – i could wax lyrical about bread
    thanks for the post
and thanks for liking my sunset post just now too

I come from a multicultural background. One half of me comes from a country where rice is a staple food and theres no need for bread. The other half comes from a country where bread is a must. The result of me is an intermediate thing of: bread is not a must and rice is not a must. Both a nice once in a while 🙂 Some breads are beautiful, its nice of you to paint them. Cheers!

My ex’s grandmother used to say “Bread is the stuff of life!” no matter how much food there was she felt the meal was incomplete without bread on the table. 🙂
