Test driving my new stylus.

Drift (2016)

Still playing with a digital art app.  I miss the tactile experience of brushes & paints but this does give me a way of keeping art in the mix.

Untitled (EMP #2) (2016)

My newest electronic media painting.  I have always liked abstract works that have this child-like unfinished edge but a depth of composition that pulls you in as a viewer.   On one hand people might be led to say “well I could do that” but on the other hand it draws them in to take a deeper look .

Played with browns today.  I love browns!  How do you feel about brown?  It seems like from a design standpoint it is a color that is making a bit of a comeback.  Brown is a warm and inviting color; one that I believe conveys an emotional safety.

Orange hues pervade this piece.  Some of the paint I used has a glossy sheen so it is a little shiny.  The lighter orange areas really help off-set the more aggressive darker areas.  Was fun to play with this color.

I envisioned a piece like this that had complimentary panels of opposing colors and feel like the blend of color in this piece is really inviting.  The added design elements add something to keep your mind and imagination busy as you view this one.

Just a fun, new abstract piece.  Love playing with monochromatic colors.  A bit of an homage to Picasso, especially his love for the black line.

Another new abstract piece done in 16″ x 20″ format.  I find the middle of the painting really captures my attention.

A labyrinth-like piece.  Really liked how the yellow half circles break up the flow of the piece so it’s not just winding lines in a sort of predictable pattern.

I’ve never painted something with a solid red background.  I’ve been playing with this concept in my mind for a while and just decided to take the plunge today.  Of course, it contains my trademark bold, black lines but I was really pleased with the juxtaposition of colors and lines in this piece.
