I sketched this image a couple nights ago and painted it yesterday. It makes me think about focus and determination but also about sincerity and seriousness of attention to something that matters. I used black/gray tones to hint at the face being that of a statue but I really wanted to convey something real, something true because I think his gaze is saying something.
Simple Thoughts About Life & Stuff 
I like the square jaw and the mouth. It speaks of simplicity to me.
